The role
Uncommon is building our commercial team to bring our first products to market.

Together our Head of Strategic Partnerships and new VP of Marketing we are focusing on how we will win the hearts and minds of partners, customers, and consumers in key markets.

This role will be the first full-time hire to provide close support and help shape our go-to-market strategy.


As our Marketing and Partnerships Coordinator, you'll provide support for and input to key initiatives that will shape our initial commercialisation strategy.


You'll work closely with all our teams, supporting, marketing, partnership maintenance, market research and support on negotiating and securing commercial contracts.

You'll communicate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate commercial activities and initiatives.

You'll be comfortable and motivated by working at the intersection of biotechnology and food innovation.


Your passion and enthusiasm will make a valuable contribution to our innovative R&D team and be seen across the world as we scale and launch a remarkable brand in the cultivated meat space.

Our main facility is based in Cambridge, UK, but this role has the flexibility to be partly remote. This may also be national and international travel required from time to time.


What you'll be doing:


  • Support on implementing a highimpact partnerships strategy to ensure technical milestones are met in our research labs whilst aligning these to companywide commercialisation goals.
  • Work closely with our Head of Strategic Partnerships & VP of Marketing to support correspondence and timelines with key external partners.
  • Support on identifying and helping to develop our partnerships and to audit and propose important channel partners to enhance our pathway to revenue generation and sustained growth. These can be influential culinary relationships, emerging or established distribution partners and more technical thoughtleaders who will advance our mission.
  • Supporting market research, competition monitoring and business relations.
  • Distilling primary, secondary or trend research into clear and actionable dashboards.
  • Supporting the negotiation of contracts and agreements so that we maintain positive and mutually beneficial relationships with our commercial customers
  • Conduct market analysis, to identify gaps and opportunities within the alternative protein sector.
  • Analyse and present data to key stakeholders on the development of ongoing deals and future opportunity forecasts
  • Build relationships to help develop our innovative technology.
  • Support internal projects from management and tracking progress point of view.

What we think you need:


  • BSc degree in Life Sciences, or related discipline
  • Enthusiastic about working across multiple industries and the wider academic community
  • Ability to thrive in an interdisciplinary, diverse team and efficiently execute highly complex projects
  • Enthusiasm and interest in business building, stakeholder management, technology commercialisation and business finances.
  • Familiarity with commercial contracts, IP management, legal documents, and working with legal personnel.
  • Be able to respond positively to unplanned events in a fastchanging environment
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication, numeracy, and English language skills (both written and verbal)
  • Exceptional organisational skills and acute attention to detail
  • Track record of showing initiative and problemsolving
