As part of our growth, we are now looking for an accounts assistant to join the team on a temporary basis.

This post requires an organised, confident and self-motivated individual who can work diligently in a fast-paced environments.

The role will be varied and will involve the daily management of the accounts receivable and supporting our Finance Officer with the accounts payable responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance of the accounts receivable including:
  • inputting cash received
- contacting customers regarding overdue invoices
- managing queries on invoices and liaising with the relevant internal departments
- debtors report

  • Supporting the Finance Officer with accounts payable including:
  • inputting invoices
- reconciliation of statements
- managing queries on invoices and liaising with the relevant internal departments
- payment reports

  • Supporting with bank transactions including:
  • Inputting cash received
  • Raising payments and posting payments to bank
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Assist with other areas within the finance processing functions when required
Person Specification


Essential Criteria

Experience:


  • At least 1 years' experience in a similar role

Skills & Competencies:

  • High level of numeracy skill
  • Selfmotivated.
  • Preferably experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Must have excellent Microsoft skills including Outlook & Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong analytical, problemsolving, planning and organisational abilities
  • Confident and selfmotivated, ability to work on own initiative
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Team player

Desirable Criteria

  • Qualified accounts technician or part qualified accountant
  • Previous experience of working within a manufacturing company
  • Knowledge of SAGE 1000/ SAGE 50

Working Week
The contracted hours are 39 hours per week.

39 hours per week will be Monday - Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-1pm.


Salary
£23,000-£27,000 per annum pro rata
