Textile Technologist / Concept Design Administrator
Monday to Friday 37hrs
£24K-£27K

Our client based in Wakefield are looking to expend their current team to work within their Textile Technologist / Concept Design Team

MAIN DUTIES:

TECHNICAL DESIGN DEPT:
1) Creating draft patterns from garment specifications and or customer garments = 20%
2) Grading original patterns into a full range of sizes= 20%
3) Supplying technical information for garment specifications = 5%
4) Specification checking and approval= 10%
5) Answering factory technical queries= 20%
6) First factory sample check and approval =10%
7) QC production approval= 10%
8) Ongoing production quality control= 5%

CONCEPT DESIGN DEPT:

Creating garment specifications on Excel for all areas of the business = 80%
Maintain records and filing of specifications = 1%
Liaise with customers & internal sales force where needed = 1%
Research the relevant markets for comparison & development =1%
Assist with creation of workwear uniform ranges where required = 7%
Assist with presentation of above ideas both internally and externally to customers / suppliers = 5%
Carry out department output tasks as & when required =5%

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

Knowledge of:
Gerber Accumark pattern design system.
Pattern design & creation.
Manual and computer grading.
Garment construction skills.
Garment construction within a factory environment.
Quality Control procedures.

A proficient level of Office 10, Excel and Illustrator is required in creating specification design work - Concept Design

GENERAL SKILLS:
Good communication skills within all levels of management.
