Vice Chancellor's Office - Planning Team

Secondment/Fixed-term for 12 months

Hybrid working with 3 days in the office and 2 working from home
We are currently recruiting for an experienced governance professional to join our small and friendly Planning Team.


You'll bring with you prior experience of providing high level professional support for committees, governance processes and projects gained from working in a complex large organisation.

A key focus of the role is ensuring that the University's major capital project governance processes are implemented effectively. You'll provide support for senior University committees, project management boards and working groups for building projects as required.

This will involve the effective deployment of a range of reading, writing and presenting skills to ensure that strategic decision makers have all the information they need at the right time.


You will work closely with the Senior Planning Officer to take forward work streams that support and develop effective governance practices.


We're looking for an organised, self-motivated individual who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a wide range of senior stakeholders.

The ability to develop positive supportive relationships with a range of colleagues across the University is essential.


Key Requirements

  • Have significant experience gained in a similar role and have experience of coordinating tasks across functional structures
  • Hold a degree and/or demonstrate equivalent experience with a focus on substantial analysis of complex written material.
  • Proven ability to be proactive, prioritise complex workloads and work to tight deadlines
