Inside of IR35

My client, a International Bank, is looking for a Data Modeller with a broad knowledge of the wholesale/markets trading domain in order to define the common data model that encompasses Front/Middle-Office, Risk and Finance.

Within this model, the Liquidity Reporting requirements (to PRA) use-case is to be prioritised.

However the data model needs to be built strategically in order for it to be extendable to meet the wider use cases (other regulatory reporting, control, finance and risk functionality).

Tasks required from the consultant will include:

  • Create conceptual data models as placeholders for each business capability (gathering input from existing architectural concepts and the domain experts from technology, architecture and the associated business areas).
  • The key focus will be on data for Liquidity Risk and Liquidity Reporting (which encompasses the majority of trading artifacts).
  • Create a logical data model at the field level and an associated data lineage back to golden source
  • Establish appropriate forums and mechanisms to review the completeness and accuracy of the models versus the existing downstream solution
  • Establish appropriate forums mechanisms to review the gap between the existing solutions in Front-Office and the new logical model
  • Produce a mapping and gap analysis for the logical data model versus the Suade logical data model

Business knowledge requirements and skill sets:

  • Solid knowledge of derivatives, securities and their end-to-end life-cycles and resulting events (order management, routes to market, execution, risk management, collateral management, margining, valuation, pricing/market data, confirmations, accounting, regulatory reporting)
  • Knowledge of Treasury ALM concepts associated with liquidity management. Ideally knowledge of industry standard models such as FpML.
  • Experience in documenting business process and operating models as well as the data concepts and lineage associated with them.
  • Solid experience working within the Financial Services sector.
