Description
The main focus of your role will be to assist the team leader in the department and ensure smooth running of the area on a daily basis:

  • You will continuously monitor raw materials
  • All operational processes
  • The overall production environment to ensure that all activity comply with food safety manufacturing standards.

Because of this, it would be desirable but not necessary if you hold (or have held) a basic food hygiene certificate.

A
strong understanding of English and willingness to learn are also advantageous because:

  • You will be expected to complete relevant production paperwork accurately.
  • Assist with deliveries ensuring they are in line with safety and quality standards.
  • Liaise with the Engineering Team to provide information on any breakdowns, working with them to minimize any production downtime.

A previous understanding of food production is beneficial because you will have to be able to:

  • Monitor production performance throughout the shift to enable fulfilment of the production plan. This will include responding to issues identified in hourly checks and changing blades on a slicer head system.
Weekends are used to uphold the hygiene standards of the production lines and equipment.

This would mean that as a machine operator, you would be required to assist in the cleaning down of machinery and have the responsibility to keep a clean area throughout the production process during the week.

Full training will be given specific to the roles outlined above and similar.

This means that despite the specific production experience you do have, our client is particularly looking for somebody who is:
