Are you passionate about improving the life chances of young people? We have a variety of exciting opportunities for Youth Workers within a leading youth charity to help shape the lives of young people.
The aim of this amazing charity is to help improve the lives of young people in Barnet by giving them somewhere to go, something to do, and someone to talk to.
Position:
Sessional Youth Worker
Location:
Edgware, London.
Salary:
£11.95 per hour
Hours:
Various hours available between 9 and 26 hours per week
About the role:
Many young people, particularly those from socio-economically deprived areas, face an endless maze of boredom, loneliness, and temptation, with nowhere to go and a lack of inspiring and productive activities to occupy their leisure time.
The charity is dedicated to young people and makes a bold statement about the importance of giving young people high-quality places to go in their leisure time.
Open 7 days a week including school holidays, their vision is to unite young people to fulfill their full potential.
We're looking for several Youth Workers with experience in delivering activities for children and young people in the following areas:*Arts Specialist - Arts and Crafts
*Multimedia
*Climbing Instructor
*Sports Worker, Sports Hall, and MUGA
*Recreational/Youth Engagement and Activity Area
*Gym and Fitness Specialist
*Music Specialist - Instrument tuition, production and/or singing
*Arts Specialist - Performing Arts
*Training Kitchen Specialist
*Boxing & Martial Arts Specialist
*Health and well-being development specialist - Mentoring, Hair & Beauty
About you:
To be successful in the role of Youth Worker you will be a role model for young people and present a positive "can do" attitude
You will also need to bring with you the following skills and experience:
*Face-to-face activity delivery, working with young people both in groups and individually
*Experience in delivering a range of activities to young people within your specialist area
*Experience in supporting young people who are disaffected, underachieving, and/or have social/emotional barriers to participation
*Experience working in a team and alongside volunteers
*Understanding of issues affecting young people's lives
*A willingness to work unsociable hours
We very much welcome previous experience working as a Child and Youth Program Assistant, Assistant Youth Development Worker, Youth Worker, Child, and Youth Development, Youth Support Worker, Mental Health Youth Worker, Educational Youth Worker, Support worker Children, Young People, Youth Support Assistant, Behaviour Support Assistant, Residential Youth Worker, Child Care Worker etc.
