We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Head of Operations to shape 4Front's organisational development.

This role deputises for the Directors and is integral in supporting the continuous improvement of 4Front's infrastructure and ensuring high quality services for 4Front members.

You will play a crucial role in guiding our small, driven and committed team and be the 'go-to' logístical person.

You will be a strategic thinker and planner, with strong operational experience, an eye for detail and a track record of turning vision into action.


You will be responsible for ensuring that the core operations, finance and HR functions of the organisation are robust, integrate our values and meet the needs of our strategic objectives.

You will ensure our long term sustainability so that our 4Front community can grow with healing support and opportunities to reimagine peace and justice.

You will be bold, proactively contributing to a workplace culture that can centre justice, healing and hope. This role demands a high level of flexibility, initiative and dedication.

As 4Front's Head of Operations, you will have a unique opportunity to drive change and ensure that young people from the ends, who have experienced violence, trauma and racial injustice, access the specialist services they deserve - at 4Front, and in society.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy + Governance

  • Embed our values, the 4Front Freedoms and our healing centred approach across the organisation
  • Support the development of an ambitious and realistic strategy to maximise 4Front's reach and impact
  • Lead on translating strategic objectives into achievable operational plans and monitoring progress against agreed targets
  • Support the development of 4Front's governance and risk management system
  • Lead on ensuring 4Front's legal + contractual compliance

Operations, Development + Sustainability

  • Lead on sustaining funding so the 4Front community can grow with healing support and opportunities to reimagine peace and justice
  • Provide strategic and operational oversight for all 4Front's services, ensuring they are well resourced, responsive to need, and bring about meaningful change
  • Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our operations
  • Oversee the effective financial management of the organisation
  • Ensure 4Front's safeguarding policy and procedures are implemented, reviewed and that staff are trained and supported

Staff + Culture

  • Cultivate an inspiring and supportive workplace culture and model a fair and open management approach that ensures trusted relationships are embedded
  • Oversee and develop all stages of the staff process, from job design and recruitment to performance management, coaching, development and leaving processes
  • Lead on providing HR expertise for the team

Representation + Relationships

  • Act as a key representative of 4Front and support the safeguarding of our values + reputation
  • Support the development + maintenance of effective partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Remain personally engaged with the on the ground delivery of 4Front's work
  • Keep informed about wider issues and policies that might affect the 4Front's work
  • Be proactive with your professional development and your growth as a social justice community leader actively seeking out opportunities to develop your understanding of social justice issues


You will also deputise for the Directors as required, both internally and externally, and flexibly undertake any other duties that may arise, develop or be assigned in line with the broad remit of the position.

This job description does not form part of your contract of employment and can be amended from time to time as the needs of the organisation require.
