Job summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Band 6 Community Mental Health Practitioner to join the team at the Department of Community Mental Health (DCMH) RAF Digby.
The post holder will work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to provide a specialised/occupational mental health service for all Service and entitled personnel within the DCMH area of responsibility (AOR) and the Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) Region as required.

Job description:
- To provide a rapid, timely and high quality mental health service to all patients referred to the DCMH for assessment and treatment of mental health problems and implementing changes as and when necessary
Person specification:
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- To provide a rapid, timely and high quality mental health service to all patients referred to the DCMH for assessment and treatment of mental health problems and implementing changes as and when necessary.
- To manage a clinical caseload delivering optimum personal and professional standards to assist the care process in accordance with DCMH protocols and clinical governance.
- Deliver up to date, evidencebased interventions for mental health problems based on guidance from the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the National Treatment Agency (NTA), which can include individual, group and teletherapy.
- Perform clinical risk assessments on all patients seen, evaluating the safety of the patient and others in the community and be able to manage/ advise on therapeutic risk taking.
Qualifications:
- Professional knowledge acquired through degree plus relevant experience in mental health
Memberships:
- Nurse (Mental Health) with Nursing Midwifery Registered Council with a demonstrable experience working at Band 5 or above.
- Experience of working in a Community Mental Health setting.
- Demonstrable experience of using NICE recommended Psychological interventions
OR- Registration with relevant professional body: you are expected to have the skills required to work as a registered professional and adhere to the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) Code of Conduct.
Post holder must be fully acquainted with the Establishment's Health & Safety and Environmental Protection Regulations and Procedures and complete all mandatory training.
