We are a small, friendly and professional Team providing safeguarding support to EEAST staff and partner agencies.


As a Safeguarding Facilitator you will provide high quality support to the Safeguarding Team facilitating a wide range of safeguarding activity.


This is a hybrid working role with a combination of working from home and attending either Biggleswade or Chelmsford on a rota basis.


  • To provide efficient and effective support to the Safeguarding Team.
  • To provide an excellent customer service, displaying a 'can do' attitude, working with accuracy and speed maintaining communication with a range of stakeholders.


To plan and execute duties as required which support the vision of the organisation, contributing to the improvement of services.

You will become part of a supportive team, facilitating a wide range of safeguarding activity for EEAST.

This is a busy role, but one that offers an excellent sense of achievement and the opportunity to develop a range of coordination and administration skills as well as an understanding of the Ambulance Trust and how they deliver great patient care.

  • Key Responsibilities of the Role
  • To liaise with external agencies including other NHS Organisations, Local Authorities, ICBs and Safeguarding Boards. Providing information to the agencies on behalf of the Safeguarding Lead/Team
  • Support Assistant Facilitators to action and log on DATIX all Requests for Information. Manage and respond with appropriate documentation and reports for all Child death notifications, Safeguarding enquiries. Collate information and provide initial analysis for MARACs, Safeguarding Reviews, Domestic Homicide Reviews and other partnership reviews for consideration by the safeguarding practitioners.
  • Draft safeguarding review chronologies and rapid review proformas for approval by safeguarding practitioner
  • To complete general office duties (photocopying, scanning etc) to support the safeguarding team in its work.
  • To facilitate and organise Safeguarding meetings, attend meetings and produce reports / notes as requested
  • To maintain electronic libraries of information and resources for staff and users including the Trust website and Intranet
  • To plan and support safeguarding projects in collaboration with other safeguarding team members.
  • To collate statistical information relating to the Safeguarding team and distribute to relevant personnel for promotion of Safeguarding information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • To utilise Trust and External databases to complete requests for information and ensure that patient information held on Trust systems is accurate.
  • To maintain all necessary administrative records: time sheets, annual leave cards and registers.
  • Support the assistant facilitators to maintain an electronic filing system of Requests for Information (RFI's), reports, procedures, guidance and information relating to the work of the Safeguarding Team and providing support for multiagency projects / work streams.
  • To complete Audits of safeguarding information to ensure compliance to Safeguarding policies. Collate information on monthly audit results, analyse and publish and distribute to personnel appropriately. Feedback to all staff involved in this process.
  • Maintain and amend Audit process as appropriate to the needs of the Safeguarding team.
  • Identify and action incidents to be reported on the DATIX system
  • Liaise with Senior Locality Managers on individual matters relating to safeguarding queries, providing them with the necessary information to be able to manage and review safeguarding concerns/queries.
  • Collate and manage the monitoring of engagement with Local Safeguarding Boards and other relevant agencies to ensure Trust compliance to legal obligations
  • Provide administrative support to the Safeguarding Lead, by managing their diary, responding to enquiries on behalf of the safeguarding lead and undertake administrative support. Maintain Outlook diaries for the Safeguarding Team and ensure prompt notification of all changes.
  • To monitor and amend data on the Trust web/intranet page in relation to Safeguarding ensuring recent documentation is posted and old documentation removed as required.
  • Support the safeguarding practitioners in their work with private providers including the completion of safeguarding compliance checklists and the monitoring of safeguarding actions from GIV visits.
