Job Description:
Venator is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Supervisor to join the White End Engineering team.


The overall purpose of the Mechanical Supervisor role is to lead the plant mechanical technician team in the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of the weekly maintenance plan and respond to injected work as determined by the Maintenance Manager.


Job responsibilities include:

  • Deliver the weekly maintenance plan in line with area requirements ensuring priorities are clearly defined, plan agreed and adherence to targets are achieved.
  • Control and direct the mechanical activities within the White End workshop area, ensuring adherence to legislative, group and site safety, engineering, and quality standards.
  • Implement a system of short interval control to ensure that technicians are supported in their tasks with the aim of removing blockers and resolving issues in a timely manner to ensure efficiency is maintained.
  • Ensure good employee relations, discipline, timekeeping, and performance by the mechanical technician team.
  • Ensure the work is undertaken to a demonstrably high quality and standard whilst adhering to the scheduled completion dates.
  • Direct lead and motivate the team members in the pursuit of continuous improvement through the implementation of maintenance excellence programmes.
  • Evaluate the training and skill development needs within the mechanical technician team to ensure that the site objectives are fully met.
  • Provide relevant and up to date progress reports on current mechanical activities, with clear KPI's in place to monitor performance and provide progress reports.
  • Live and demonstrate behaviours that drive a positive valuesbased culture.

Job-Related work experience, Skills/Knowledge Requirements:

  • A supervisory qualification to NVQ level 3/4 and/or experience of Front-Line Management.
  • A strong mechanical equipment background including valves, rotating equipment, and conveying systems.
  • The ability to read engineering drawings and be able to communicate this to the shopfloor.
