About the employer:


Established in 2008, we provide cost-effective IT management & computer network maintenance services for businesses throughout Worksop, Sheffield, Doncaster and Rotherham.


Brief overview of the role:

We have an opening for an IT Service Desk Apprentice.

This an IT Support role where you will be given the chance to develop the skills in a wide range of IT-related areas.

This role is perfect for someone who is looking to get started in IT, with plenty of opportunities to progress into more senior or specialised roles.


Working week:

09:00-17:00

Vacancy description:

Initially you will be given the training and support to fulfil the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to both internal and external customers through digital channels, remotely and face-to-face
  • Establish and diagnose technical problems and faults with the systems and technologies applicable to your role using troubleshooting methodology
  • Use tools and technologies to resolve identified issues and faults
  • Communicate with all levels of stakeholders, talking them through steps to take to resolve issues or set up systems, keeping them informed of progress and managing escalation
  • Document and escalate tasks to ensure a clear audit trail and progression of issues
You will then be given the opportunity to work further on your particular areas of interest, given the range of services we provide, this could include:

  • Networking
  • Data & Network security
  • VoIP Systems
  • Cloud
  • PC Support & Maintenance
  • Other areas
This could take the form of site visits, project work or a change in role.


Requirements and prospects

Qualifications Required:

GCSE Maths & English (Grade C/4 or above)


Desired skills:


  • IT literate
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational skills

Training to be provided:

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communication Technician qualification:
The qualification has core knowledge elements, before branching out into one of the following pathways:

  • IT Support Technician
  • Network Technician
  • Digital Communications Technician
Your Tutor, Pathway Planner and Employer will decide the best pathway for you to follow.

All training is delivered online in virtual classrooms twice per week

You will undertake Functional Skills for English and/or Maths if needed


Future Prospects:


  • The option to move into a fulltime role upon completion of the apprenticeship
  • The opportunity to progress into more senior roles
  • A range of specialist areas in which to further develop skills
