The Compliance Function
The Compliance Function's vision is to inspire ethical decisions every day.

Our aim is to proactively support WTW to generate sustainable value, helping the company to deliver good client outcomes, manage its conduct, protect against regulatory risk, andto maintain strong regulatory relationships.

Within WTW's internal control system, we form part of the Second Line of Defence, as a function independent from daily business activities.


We lead the management and co-ordination of WTW Compliance policies and procedures, identifying applicable regulatory requirements and assisting in implementing relevant processes to enable standards to be met.

We also provide guidance and training. We monitorcompliance with regulatory obligations and implemented controls within the Compliance Program. The Compliance team leads the management and co-ordination of the requirements of our global regulators.


The Legal Function
The Legal Function is responsible for advising the company on all legal matters, including:

  • advising on transactional matters
- assisting with contract negotiation
- managing litigation risks
- handling government and internal investigations
- providing advice on M&A transactions, employment and compensation matters
- advising on substantive technical legal and regulatory matters.


We work closely with our colleagues in the Office of the General Counsel, including the Compliance, Risk and Corporate Secretariat teams.

Our aim is to enable the company's strategic goals in a sustainable way that protects the company and appropriatelylimits legal risk and costs, reduces litigation exposure and ensures legal compliance.

We aim to do so efficiently, expeditiously, reliably and professionally.


The Business Legal Teams (BLT) primarily focus on delivery of commercial legal services to the business and functions along with support on legal work undertaken by specialty practice areas such as M&A, investigations, regulatory matters and litigation.


The Role


Reporting to the Global Chief Compliance Officer, and also supporting: General Counsel, R&B and Head of Business Legal Teams and Compliance Project Manager.


The role is a key contributor to the team's aim of maintaining an efficient, independent Compliance Function and framework and effective delivery of the BLT's strategic goals.


Principal Duties/Responsibilities
Supporting the roles identified above by carrying out the following activities.

  • Diary management
  • Meeting, mailbox and event management
  • Travel management including detailed itineraries and visa arrangements
  • Expense and invoice management
  • Working closely with the Global Compliance Director
  • Operations to ensure effective, seamless support is provided to the Chief Compliance Officer.
  • Providing effective and proactive support to the Head of Business Legal Teams
  • Developing strategy and plans for BLT and compliance projects, including defining goals and timelines
  • Managing Compliance and BLT project timelines, monitoring risks and dependencies, and escalating accordingly
  • Proactively providing solutions and implementing changes as necessary
  • Reporting project progress to stakeholders
  • Gathering and reviewing management information and preparing reports as needed
Communications and Relationships

Internal:

  • Strong relationships with Compliance team and the Business Legal Teams as well as other teams within the Office of the General Counsel.
  • Trusted relationship with any relevant business teams and other functional stakeholders.

External:

  • Ability to coordinate with regulators and outside counsel and advisors as necessary
  • Highly organised and methodical
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Proactive rather than reactive
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly PowerPoint and Excel),Microsoft Sharepoint, Microsoft Project and Visio.
  • Good knowledge of working with video conferencing and interactive call facilities (Microsoft Teams preferable)
  • Familiarity with legal operational tools such as matter management and contract lifecycle management software helpful but not essential
  • Team player with good interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight timelines and without direct supervision
  • Fluent business English essential
  • Always demonstrates high integrity
