Newcastle or Edinburgh - new role. Hybrid working. Perm or FTC - ideally immediate start


Due to growth in our business, we require additional HR resource to support day to day general HR activities as well as getting involved in a number of exciting projects.


Responsibilities include:


  • Provide generalist HR advice and support as required ensuring advice is professional, commercial and focused on the business requirements as well as legislation.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on policies and best practice.
  • Assist managers on employee performance issues and processes.
  • Support line managers with the management of recruitment, search and selection procedures, and attend and coordinate interviews as required.
  • Day to day HR administration, for example, drafting and issuing of contracts, salary review letters, amendments to contracts, maintaining and developing excel spreadsheets and using the internal HR system.
  • Support in the maintenance and development of HR systems.
  • Support line managers with the management of, and execute performance management, disciplinary, termination, absence management processes.
  • Execute and feedback exit interviews to line managers.

Skills & Experience


You will be a natural team player and multi-tasker - with a proven background in an HR Advisory role or similar.


  • Experience with and have a background in operational HR.
  • Capacity to deal with ambiguity and changing business requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of HR principles, practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of employment law and keeping up to date with employment law changes.
  • Strong skills in MS Office in particular Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
  • Organised and able to prioritise work effectively.
  • An enthusiastic, driven, committed and flexible approach to work.
  • Solutions driven, confident and friendly approach in dealing with people.
  • Natural initiative and proactiveness to their method of working.
  • Excellent analytical, process and documentation skills.
