We are currently working with a secondary school that requires an experienced school Data Manager from January or if possible sooner.


Job start:
January or possibly sooner

Salary:
£42,510 to £49,707 per year


Location:
Tower Hamlets


Contract type:
Permanent - full-time


Working hours: 8 am - 4 pm
Pupil Assessment - Analysis of Data and Assessment

  • Student target setting KS3
  • Creation of assessment templates for all year groups.
  • Management of all aspects of Sims reporting systems
  • Produce accurate reports for parents / carers on student progress
  • Management of pupil assessment databases including 4Matrix and ALPs
  • Support Heads of Year and Heads of Faculty in developing and analysing
- student progress data.

  • Provide and analyse accurate student progress data to members of the Senior
  • Leadership Team and Middle Leaders as per school calendar.
  • Produce reports for the Governing Body on pupil outcomes.
  • Support Faculty and Year Teams to produce bespoke data systems.
School Timetable and Options Management

  • Working with the Deputy Head to produce the whole school timetable.
  • Working with the Curriculum Deputy to manage the options process.
  • Day to day maintenance and updating of school timetable.
  • Liaise with Middle Leaders and members of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure student/staffing timetable changes are entered onto Sims (includes midphase admissions).
  • Creating and managing drop timetables and others as required throughout the year

Examinations:
Line Managing the Exams Officer.

  • Strong knowledge of external examinations systems and processes.
  • Ensure the efficient administration of both internal and external examinations.
  • Ensure that examination policies are processed and rigorously applied in
- school.

Whole School Data Managing the year 6-7 transition data.


Job Description:


DATA MANAGER

  • Ensure the completion of the relevant statistical data to external bodies, this will include but is not limited to: Pupil Census, Persistent Absence Return and Forvus.
  • To become a SIMS administrator / superuser
  • To work closely with the IT Team to ensure that the MIS integrates fully with the ICT network.
  • To ensure that third party systems used at the school (e.g. library database and rewards system) seamlessly integrate with the MIS
  • To provide input into strategic decisions on all school systems that relate to the use of data.
  • To proactively research data related potential future challenges and issues to enable the school to effectively anticipate and respond.
  • To produce external returns that are pupil driven to ensure funding is maximised.
  • Work closely with SLT providing them with any data and statistical and reporting requirements
  • To participate in relevant CPD training as required by the school and for your own development

  • The postholder will actively participate in all aspects of the Performance
  • Management Scheme, including undertaking duties and responsibilities for the purpose of selfdevelopment.
  • The postholder will be required to undergo appropriate training in connection with the development of new technology and assist in the implementation of computerised systems, in accordance with developments in information technology.
  • Must be available for transitional (break/lunchtime) duties
