Our Tech & High Growth team are booming with growth and we are on the lookout for a motivated and savvy Corporate Tax Director who is keen on the tech/scale up sector and loves a challenge.

Working with some of the fastest growing, best funded scaleups in the UK, you will support the founders and the finance teams in these companies to deal with the tax challenges of rapid expansion.

With an affinity for building fantastic relationships, you will support our client base across a multitude of tax advisory matters - from employee share schemes to international tax and tax due diligence - working closely and directly with our clients, as they continually grow and develop.

With a keen eye for spotting opportunities, you will be an integral part of the team's growth

The THG tax team is led by James Peck who joined Cooper Parry in April 2021 to set up the sector focused tax team after spending 8 years at his previous firm focusing on scaling technology businesses.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a THG team very much in 'growth mode' as we look to become the number 1 and go to team advising tech and high growth businesses across the UK.

As our next Tax Director you will:

Have an interest in the technology sector and enjoy scaling businesses so you can discuss client requirements and really dig into the support, advice and expertise they need
Build rapport with prospective and future clients, which might involve conversations wider than tax to seek other opportunities where we can build on their service line, for example: how the business plan to finance their operations, grow internationally or expand their existing proposition into new vertical
Provide technical expertise to ensure advice given is accurate and not in jargon, supporting our client base across a multitude of complex tax advisory matters
Manage corporation tax compliance portfolios, liaising with colleagues in other service lines to provide a joined up holistic service
Lead complex assignments across a broad range of tax matters, where you will either sign off the projects, or work with other members of the senior team to sign off projects, often across multiple areas of UK and International tax
Attend pitches with prospective clients and lead the tax proposition to align with the commercial requirements of the targets
Attend/speak at networking events to promote Cooper Parry and the Tech and High Growth team
Support the team to develop by delivering regular coaching and feedback to others

CP invest heavily in technology - automating processes where possible and obtaining information digitally.

This allows our people to enjoy more office based and remote working instead of constantly travelling around London to client sites.
