The London School of Commerce (LSC) is one of the largest and most reputable private higher education providers in the United Kingdom.
LSC is seeking a highly motivated Manager who will provide high quality, efficient and effective technical support services to staff and students across all global campuses.
The role will be hands-on, providing IT support requiring a breadth of technicalskills and working with a range of technologies across desktop and server management.
Duties and responsibilities
- Perform system maintenance and updates as appropriate.
- Image/reimage campus computers and install updates and software
- Advise staff and students on best practices, institutional policies, and process improvement
- Develop and nurture relationships with staff to encourage technology use
- Working across sites will be required to support the IT Department
- Installation, repair and maintenance of computers, printers, peripherals, and network related equipment
- Report any faulty equipment to the appropriate person, i.e. log vendor support calls, and manage warranty issues
- Undertake other duties as requested by the IT Director including manage and maintain the IT inventory records
- Ensure all LSC data is kept secure and integrity maintained
- Support all AV troubleshooting, including video conferencing and audioconferencing room systems, projectors, digital screens, and other related equipment.
- Troubleshooting for room system AV, including desktop PCs and laptops
- User account management through active directory and Office 365 Admin in a hybrid environment. Deal with daytoday administrative tasks such as password changes, printer credit, toner replacement, projector bulb replacements etc when required.
- Perform daily checks on IT equipment
- Troubleshoot and maintain printer provisions for staff and students
- Ensure consumables are sourced and that stock does not run below the minimum requirements
- Travel to other sites within the UK (particularly in Birmingham and Manchester) as required and, potentially, overseas on occasion.
Person specification
Passion for technology and knowledge of technical systems
Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and work under pressure
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment
Ability to adapt quickly (and positively) to changing demands
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Experience with support software e.g. Microsoft O365 and Office packages, AD and various communications platforms.
