    Default job background
    Description

    Role Introduction:

An exciting opportunity to join a dedicated, enthusiastic team of data protection experts, grow your knowledge and skills, and progress your career in Data Protection.

As one of OneAdvanced's Data Protection team subject matter experts on all aspects related to Data Protection, the Data Protection Analyst role reports into the Senior Data Protection Manager, which in turn reports into the Global Data Protection Officer. This officer is responsible for providing global advice on Data Protection Legislation and maintaining privacy maturity across the OneAdvanced business. The role also works closely with other colleagues within the Legal team and across the global business, serving as our second line defence position. The role offers plenty of scope for training and development for the successful candidate, as well as future opportunity for promotion to the job role of Data Protection Manager.

    What You Will Do:

The Data Protection Analyst role comprises undertaking activities in four key areas:

    Policy & Awareness

    1. Collaborate on revisions of existing data protection policies, procedures, guidance, and training material to ensure compliance with current legislation, maturity, and embedding across the business.
    2. Develop and deliver central training and awareness initiatives on data protection, including bespoke training for high-risk roles within the business, such as Sales, Marketing, and HR.
    3. Collaborate on the revision of the Data Protection Impact Assessment process and documentation, making recommendations for continuous improvement.

    Advice and Guidance

    1. Assess the need for, and undertake, Data Protection Impact Assessments using OneAdvanced's tools, identifying remedial steps required, ensuring that mitigations out of the DPIA process are recorded, that significant data protection risks are owned by the appropriate accountable role within the business, and recorded centrally.
    2. Provide advice and guidance to Advanced business areas on data protection issues, requirements, and controls via the data protection mailbox, ensuring it is organised, queries are logged, tracked, and recorded appropriately.
    3. Create and maintain content on The Data Protection Hub to provide colleagues with central resources relating to key data protection topics.

    Incidents and Rights Requests

    1. Support the Data Protection team and wider business with rights requests from data subjects. Liaise with data subjects in relation to such requests to ensure they are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

    Information Management

    1. Collaborate on the creation and rollout of brand new policies in light of OneAdvanced 3.0, such as global Data Retention and Information Classification.
    2. Drive the implementation of new team systems, including a new Records of Processing platform, ticketing system for Data Protection, and coordinating updates to Records of Processing from across the business.
    3. Provide key performance indicator metrics to senior-level committees to demonstrate the health status of OneAdvanced's privacy maturity.

    What We Are Looking For:

    1. You have experience operating within a data protection environment, acquired a good level of knowledge, and can apply it in a clear and practical way understood by stakeholders.
    2. You have a thirst to learn more and hone your data protection knowledge and ability to apply it pragmatically, taking the initiative, and being enthusiastic about personal career development. If you do not hold an appropriate data protection qualification, you will be prepared to achieve one quickly.
    3. You are a team player, willing to learn and lend a hand to colleagues who require help, and also able to ask for help when needed.
    4. You enjoy working with and managing the implementation of new technology, taking the lead on projects requiring input from colleagues around the wider business.
    5. You have excellent working knowledge of how to use MS Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    Desirable Criteria:

    1. You hold an appropriate data protection qualification, such as CIPPE, CIPPM, PC.dp, or equivalent.
    2. You have at least three years' experience working in a Data Protection-related role.

    Your Benefits:

    • Annual Leave – 25 days of annual leave, plus public holidays, and the ability to buy additional days.
    • Employee Assistance Programme – Free advice, support, and confidential counselling available 24/7 through Care First.

    Personal Growth:

    • Development Programmes – From Future Managers to Leadership Training, our programmes help you get where you need to go.
    • Performance Bonus – Our Group-wide bonus scheme enables you to reap the rewards of your success.

    Financial Wellbeing:

    • Pension Scheme – Our plan with Scottish Widows offers 5% matched contribution by the company.
