Description

As FP&A manager you will be responsible for planning & forecasting, performance analysis, models and monitoring, and management information for DAS LEI (Legal Expenses Insurance).

You can expect to deliver all commercial financial analysis to interpret businessresults and performance, providing the necessary financial insight and commentaries and ensuring appropriate forecasting as well as value driver analysis.


This role is unique in that you will also have the opportunity to act as the finance business controller, providing great exposure to senior stakeholders in the business, monitoring the business performance and providing support and challenge to the respectiveExecutive Management team members, working closely with underwriting and claims, and collaborating with other business controllers to provide decision support capabilities to DAS LEI.

You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills, stakeholder management and will have the opportunity to develop slides and presentationsfor board and leadership.

In addition, you can expect to:

  • Develop three to five year corporate plan (IFRS4 & 17) with supporting budgeting and forecasting.
  • Turn data into accurate, readable and relevant operational financial information and management information (IFRS4 & 17), delivered in a timely way to stakeholders across Insurance in order to support business decision making.
  • Manage performance against financial forecasts, in such a way that drives accountability and ownership across the business.
  • Business partner with Client Services, working closely with the director and act as point of contact/ go to person for business requirements.
  • Analyse performance of business lines, and challenge business on its operational efficiency.
  • Ensure key internal and external deliverables are executed and shared with the group.
  • Develop Transaction Committee packs and provide in depth analysis for strategic opportunities. Challenge and critically assess the assumptions to ensure independent review.
  • Crosstrain with other roles providing support to the wider BC&R team.
  • Develop and maintain an effective approach to risk management and controls.

About You
We're looking for someone who is a self-starter with the ability to effectively manage their own time and workload.

This role would suit someone who has demonstrable prior experience of FP&A and who can demonstrate:


  • Significant experience in a commercial capital/regulatory role in the financial services environment, ideally gained from within the insurance sector and degree educated;
  • Demonstrable insurance industry experience to ensure insightful analysis and satisfactory customer service;
  • Deep knowledge of accounting and performance management;
  • Indepth knowledge of applicable accounting standards (IFRS4 & 17, UK GAAP);
  • Insurance industry and insurance accounting knowledge; and
  • Team management and performance improvement experience.
