Salary - £28,125 to £29,636 Depending on experienceHybrid working (50/50)
UKCEH is looking for a Junior Executive Assistant to join our 600-strong team, contributing to scientific discovery and generating the data, insights and solutions that researchers, businesses and governments need to solve complex environmental challenges.
We are the custodians of a wealth of environmental data, collected by UKCEH and its predecessors over the course of more than 60 years.

You'll be joining our team based in Wallingford, led by the EA to UKCEH Executive Director, responsible for ensuring the executive office runs with efficiency.
We are looking for a proactive and adaptable Junior level Executive Assistant to provide support to the Director of Science.
You'll be joining a leading independent, not-for-profit research institute that's committed to recruiting talented people like you, progressing your career and giving you the support you need to thrive at UKCEH.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Maintain and monitor the Director's diary, whilst booking both virtual and facetoface meetings, using initiative to plan and organise their time effectively
- Working with the EA team, arrange internal and external meetings (including video and teleconferences) booking meeting rooms, catering and IT
- Process expense claims on behalf of the Director of Science
- Attend and contribute to weekly EA meetings
- Obtain an understanding of the boards and committees the Director is a member of (internal and external to UKCEH), liaison with the secretariats of these boards to develop relationships
As a Junior EA, you will receive on-the-job training to develop your skills and experience in all aspect of the role, leading to a fully competent executive assistance.
For the role of Junior Executive Assistant, we're looking for somebody who has:
- Confidence to proactively take decisions within agreed parameters, and review Director's priorities and deadlines whilst understanding when to seek advice and guidance
- A confident and professional verbal and written communicator, with a good eye for detail
- Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and a changing workload
- The ability to work independently and flexibly, managing your time effectively
- After training, understand the research and organisational context for UKCEH, and the scientific terminology relevant to the Director's role
