What you'll be doing
This role involves supporting clients from our offices based in Corby, working within a team of technicians. Providing excellent levels of technical support and customers.

A large portion of the role will involve technical support to external clients viaremote managed services, whilst also working on occasion to support senior technicians to carry out project work, installations and scheduled maintenance on customer systems.

Due to the nature of the role, a full driving license with your own transport is required

Your role will include

  • Answering all calls in a prompt, polite, calm and professional manner.
  • Supporting users, by offering a high level of 1st line support.
  • Maintaining customer expectations and escalating issues where necessary.
- co-ordinating the effective resolution of problems to ensure service delivery, and solutions implemented to prevent re-occurrence.

  • Where necessary in our inhouse lab; assemble and configure hardware.
  • Investigation and diagnosis of IT faults and problems, this may include hardware and software issues on PC's, Servers and other network equipment.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be organised and driven with the ability to work both independently and within a team.


Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • 1 + years' experience of Microsoft Operating System installation and support
  • 1 + years' experience of Microsoft Application Software installation and support
  • 1 + years' experience of hardware installation and support in a networked environment
  • Good Windows desktop skills and support experience
  • Windows Server Administration: Active Directory/DNS/DHCP
  • Basic knowledge of VMWare & Hyper-V An understanding of data backup principals

Desirable

  • Training or experience using Sophos Products
  • Training or experience using Microsoft Office 36
  • Knowledge of networking technologies and troubleshooting (IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs and switching)

Education and training

Essential

  • Full UK Driving License

Desirable

  • Microsoft Certifications.
  • CompTIA certifications
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management
  • Service Desk Institute Qualifications
  • Essential Skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Able to work in a confidential environment and an understanding of the importance of this
  • Good administration skills and an eye for detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and work independently
  • Good liaison and team working skills
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Have suitable conduct for audience
