About the role


The Toy Designer is accountable for creating and developing customized toys, including plush and figurines, as well as related children's products and marketing solutions.

Additionally, you will suggest themes and concept lineups around specific topics and lead the development within the TCC design team, overseeing products and marketing materials from concept to manufacturing and execution while respecting the internal structure and design direction.


As a Toy Designer, your responsibilities will include researching, conceptualizing, designing, and developing solutions to bring ideas to life within the company.

This role necessitates extensive knowledge of popular culture and children's play materials. You will actively contribute to advancing research and development projects, potentially leading to new business opportunities.


This is a great opportunity to join a creative team working on multiple projects with exciting licenses simultaneously, contributing to European and global campaigns.

You will be a part of the design team under the head of creative, building a solid working relationship with the category team.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Working closely with our product developers to create a brief for licensed toys
  • Designing products (plush, toys, figurines, bags, bottles, etc.)
  • Creating characters from scratch (in 3d and 2d)
  • Understanding licensor guidelines and translating them into our products
  • Suggesting new concepts
  • Preparing outstanding presentations that will make the offer stand out (ppt)
  • Helping with preparing the project brief if necessary
  • Contacting the right colleagues in the company to ensure the success of a project
  • Understanding of feasibility according to cost/timing of different products
  • Using customer insights to bring relevant ideas to life
  • Bringing together other creative colleagues with different skills to ensure the full success
  • Researching for novelties (trends, technologies, etc.)
You will likely have a background in retail buying (Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or non-food product areas. We're looking for an enthusiastic, bright, and self-motivated individual with excellent teamwork, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Experience in the kid's category (plushies, toys, figurines, etc.)
  • A degree (or equivalent) in design
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers, clients, and internal teams
  • Adobe Suite expert
  • Office Suite (Excel/PPT)
  • 3D software + rendering software
  • Video skills a plus
  • AI skills a plus
  • Finally, you'll be creative, super organised and efficient, have strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and be adept at managing and motivating a team.
