About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Reporting Senior Manager to join our team at an exciting time as we reach a key go live phase of our finance transformation activities.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversight of the group consolidation.
  • Managing the statutory reporting process including the production of the Annual Report & Accounts; Interim Financial Statements and
- subsidiary financial statements.

  • Main daytoday point of contact for external auditors and supporting the Head of External Reporting on managing the wider relationship.
  • Preparation and review of technical accounting papers, including contribution to regular Board Audit Committee update papers.
  • Representing External Reporting on cross Society projects.
  • Managing and developing a team.
  • Key contributor to the development of the External Reporting function.

The role will drive continuous improvement in all areas and where risks are identified work to resolve or mitigate these while ensuring that escalation routes are followed.

The role is a key point of contact for other areas of finance and other teams acrossthe Society and collaborates broadly to achieve shared goals.

The role is a hybrid working role and when office based will be at our Head Office site at Binley in Coventry.

About You

You'll be ACA/ACCA qualified, with substantial PQE and strong experience of IFRS accounting standards, IFRS 9 and IAS 39 would be advantageous.

You'll be confident communicator in both expressing opinions and providing technical advice and guidance to colleaguesacross the business alongside excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

You'll have an ability to step back from the detail and contribute to debate to find fair and proportionate technical solutions.

You'll be expected to handle and understand complex technical financial accounting topics and communicate them in a simple way.

Strong IT skills, including excel are a must as are excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to contribute toBoard level documents.

You will have strong relationship management skills and be comfortable talking to stakeholders of all levels.

You'll be an ambitious individual with a go-getting attitude who will feel empowered to make a difference and add value.

Resilience to change and ability to adapt are needed as the Society continues to transform through its change programme.

The individualin role will have a natural curiosity to investigate and question results with the ability to challenge the business to resolve or offer solutions to problems that occur or seek to approach things differently.

You are keen to mentor, support and develop future talent and be a key part of the External Reporting team as we move into the next phase of our finance transformation journey.
