Administrative Support for Digestive and Emergency Surgery


An opportunity has arisen to provide cover for a 6 month contract to join the Surgical Care Group as an administrative support secretary.

Diary management

Stock control

Organising / booking of travel & accommodation

Arranging meeting

Recording meeting outcomes

Rota management

The role will involve liaising with various members of the Care Group team. All interested applicants must be highly organised and flexible to be able to meet the needs of job. A high level knowledge of Microsoft packages, NHS experience would be an advantage.

To provide high level secretarial/administrative support to directorate management teams including clinical directors and heads of department.

Receive incoming mail for directorate management team. Identify appropriate action, ensure responses and follow up action, where appropriate, within set timeframes.

Meet staff and visitors to the department and deal with them in a professional manner.

Audio and copy type correspondence including reports for directorate management teams.

Deal with all queries, correspondence and telephone calls in a timely and professional manner and initiate action where possible.


Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

To provide a comprehensive administrative/secretarial service to directorate management teams including clinical directors (two sessions) and heads of departments with the minimum of supervision.

Organise your own workload to ensure that an efficient and high quality service is provided.

It is essential that you should initiative commensurate with the role and it is vital that confidentiality should be maintained at all times.
