We have an exciting opportunity for
Site Reliability Engineer with Saint-Gobain Building and Distribution Digital Centre in Newbury. This is a new role operating hybrid (3 days office), and work from home. We are looking for a great engineer who has a passion for innovative problem solving, quality-first coding and DevOps/SREpractices


This will involve working closely with DevOps, our Test teams and Service Delivery teams to ensure our environments remain available, secure and stable and their purpose is well documented.


Experience needed:


  • Proven experience within a Site Reliability Engineer role or similar (12 years or more).
  • Experience working across different software environments over different technologies (onprem and cloud environments)
  • Experience with DevOps methodology and Continuous Delivery.
  • Experience working in a 'Securitybydesign' approach to ensure all environments are secure and compliant.
  • Experience of troubleshooting, root cause analysis and maintenance tasks.
  • Wellversed in continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines.

Desirable experience:


  • Proficient in at least one scripting language. Python and BASH would be desirable.

Responsibilities:


  • Environments remain available and stable.
  • Environments and their purpose well documented.
  • Ensure environments are scalable and meet with the desired throughput.
  • All processes automated where possible working closely with the DevOps Manager to deliver.
  • Ensure all SLA's are in place and adhered to.
