The Arriva UK Trains Bid Team is a multi-disciplinary team made up of highly specialised professionals and our priority is, through collaborative working, to submit compelling and high-quality bids to secure new contracts and retain existing rail contracts in the UK and across Europe.
We have an exciting opportunity within our Finance Team for an experienced Head of Financial Analysis who is passionate about leading finance work-streams and delivering robust financial submissions.
This is a chance to work on a range of large tenders, analysing potential opportunities and delivering value for the Arriva Group.
Leading the Finance Team and work-streamLeading the preparation of all elements of the financial submission requirements, including drafting compelling and accurate bid documents such as the Record of Assumptions and other contract documentation
Supporting Workstream Leads by providing insight and challenge in the development of winning initiatives and business cases and supporting their articulation within Delivery Plans
Liaising with Financial Modelling and Management Information teams to ensure consistency in understanding and treatment of bid-specific technical matters
Identifying risks and proposing mitigations for risks associated with the target business/contract
Leading the Financial governance process and contributing to Gateway Reviews of specific initiatives and model runs whilst meeting committed and challenging timelines
Assisting in the provision of financial information to support the wider governance process
Leading the Model run process
Reviewing the Model run outputs with senior management
Ensuring appropriate financial quality assurance reviews have been undertaken.
Providing leadership and support to the development of the Finance Team
Identifying and introducing process improvements and promoting the continuous development of the modelling suite and team procedures
Acting as the Finance representative at meetings with clients
Assisting in the identification and exploitation of new opportunities
Supporting the wider Arriva Group with their finance needs
- Qualified Accountant
Very strong Excel and Office suite skills
Good analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Good professional writing and presentational skills
Previous rail or bidding experience
Ability to work within tight deadlines, with attention to detail
Ability to distil large quantities of data into meaningful information
Collaborative thinker who enjoys working in a team
Fluent written and spoken French is desirable but not essential
