Band 5 Registered Mental Health - London, United Kingdom - North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust
Description
We are excited to be expanding our Multi-professional Workforce to band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurses to come and work as part of our teams in Care of the Elderly clinical areas.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Mental Health Nurses who would enjoy the complexity and specialism of caring for elderly patients who present with a range of symptoms and needs which include: dementia, frailty, mental health and neurological problems.
We have a fantastic co-located Psychiatric Liaison team who provided specialist assessments for these patients but our intention is to develop our own homegrown talent to work as part of our day to day multidisciplinary teams.
We look forward to sharing our knowledge and training packages in Acute care whilst we also hope to learn from the Mental Health speciality; evolving as a team together.
We are committed to supporting all nurses via the Preceptorship route and beyond with an exceptional Professional Workforce Development Team.
If this sounds like a role that would interest you, please get in touch with matron for an informal chat about the role.
You will work as an interface between the psychiatric liaison team and your established team to ensure patient's mental health needs are interpreted into high quality care whilst on the ward and provide ongoing mental state reviews as well as dynamic risk assessments.
You will use your specialist knowledge and skill set to identify and detail deterioration/ improvements and fluctuations in patient's mental health and feedback to the team/s where there are significant risks that need mitigating and work with your colleagues to do so.
North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is a medium sized District General Hospital based in Edmonton in Enfield, North London.
Many of our patients live in wards that are within the 5% most deprived in the UK and a large proportion of our patients were born abroad.
This makes it both a fascinating and a challenging hospital to work in.
