Description

This is a remarkable role; we're looking for Graduate Nuclear Safety Assurance Engineer who ideally has specialised within the Defence sector but may well have already engaged with the power generation sector, possibly as part of your course or on a workplacement.

You will be working on a range of projects at different stages of their lifecycle from new buildings through to upgrades and life extension moving through to decommissioning.

The post will see you using your design and advice capabilities to develop solutions in this particularly exciting world.

Ideally you will be based within easy commuting distance of Bristol, Aldershot or Glasgow, but the company is able to offer true hybridworking and are happy to explore all options.

The key thing is that you will need to be able to provide safety assurance support while helping to help manage nuclear safety and ensure compliance with Site Licence Conditions.

You will also need to have a grounding in a range of the following:

  • Hazard/fault identification studies, HAZOP, FMEA for example.
  • Qualitative and Quantitative Hazard Assessments.
  • Radiological Hazard Assessments.
  • Probabilistic Safety Assessments.
  • Safety report production.
  • Support to Engineering Substantiation activities.
  • Development and review of Safety management arrangements.
  • Producing nuclear technology technical reports.
  • Managing safety assurance activities and leading safety assurance teams.
  • You will need to have the ability to look at things differently and take a different approach; ideally you'll be able to communicate this to others and help get them on to your path of thinking.
Qualifications wise you'll need to have a degree (or equiv) in physics, mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline.

Obviously, you will need to be an experienced Senior Nuclear Safety Assurance Engineer, or ready to move in to up to being a Senior Nuclear Safety Assurance Engineer from working as a Nuclear Safety Assurance Engineer.

If you have defence experience, that willbe fantastic, but if you are working in nuclear safety or have a closely allied background, this could be the role to help you get into that industry.

What's on offer? True flexible working between location, hours and days. A top notch salary with a pension that will double your input. There are bonuses, private medical and many more aspects that offer financial and lifestyle rewards. In short, this is trulyan opportunity to define your future career.
