Teaching Personnel are working with a large and diverse Secondary school in Cardiff and are currently recruiting for a
Trainee Teaching Assistant to join their Learning Support team.


This job is to begin after February half term
(Feb 27th) and will be carrying on for the rest of the academic year.

Hours: 08.15am - 3.15pm:

Salary: £350 - £400 weekly pay:


  • Full Time Monday-Friday


As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will be working as part of a team of Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs.

The support you offer will be both on a one-to-one basis and within small groups in the schools specialist ALNdepartment.

The school have specified that the right person for this role will be calm, patient, empathetic and nurturing.

You will be able to build good relationships quickly as having a good level of trust early with the pupils you are supporting is very important.

Building these relationships is key so that they know they can look to you for guidance and support.

**Key Responsibilities: - Supporting 1 pupil or a small group of pupils with additional learning needs

  • Work closely with the schools learning support team to report on pupil progress and identify any key opportunities the pupil may need support with
  • Ensuring safeguarding is kept to a high standard throughout the day


As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will receive a
Level 2 Child Safeguarding qualification before you start, and many more CPD opportunities once in the schoolThere are many courses available including:Team Teach behaviour managementcourse, Autism Awareness, An Introduction to the Thrive Approach and The Complete SEND Diploma.


The school you will be joining is a based in Cardiff (CF14) although we do have opportunities in other Cardiff schools, so please get in touch to find out about other vacant positions we are working on.

**Requirements: - Minimum qualifications required: A*-C in GCSE Maths and English

  • If no previous experience working with children, you must be able to display transferable skills from personal or professional experiences
