Position; ASSISTANT HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER

Location; Oxford

Salary; £28,000 - £32,000

Our client based in the centre of Oxford is looking for someone to join their Housekeeping team working alongside the Housekeeping Manager to ensure the smooth running of the operation.

This housekeeping team comprises of c.10 cleaners, 3 logistics personnel and one supervisor. The position will deputise for the Housekeeping Manager in her absence and liaise regularly with the Accommodation teams.

This position does require flexibility of working hours. Some weekend work will be required, This is a full time position - 40 hours per week.

Main responsibilities;

To supervise staff to ensure standards of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness in all tenanted areas, bedrooms, corridors, meeting rooms, offices and public areas at all times
Organise and supervise the daily cleaning of all assigned areas to ensure they are cleaned to the highest standards.
Ensure staff are aware of any failures in service and that shortcomings are rectified as soon as possible.
Visit all cleaning staff and Housekeeping Facilitators on a regular basis, ensuring they are working as scheduled and following safe working practices.
Collate daily work sheets, documenting and reporting any failures in service and maintenance issues, before filing.
Ensure adherence to the recycling programme ensuring that as much waste material as possible is recycled.
Assist Housekeeping Manager with recruitment of permanent staff.

About you;

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
The position requires a friendly and personable individual who is comfortable communicating with others from varying backgrounds and seniority.

Required;

Excellent communication skills
Positive and self motivated with a 'cando' attitude
IT skills and basic knowledge of MS packages
