Description

This is a new role, which will report directly to the CFO, with overall responsibility for designing, leading and executing the Group's tax strategy, including responsibility for all (outsourced) tax compliance, tax related financial reporting, management oftax risk and opportunities and provision of tax advice to the Group's operations.

The role will involve working closely with overseas finance teams and external tax advisors across multiple jurisdictions and providing support on global M&A transactions.


This newly created role will encompass:

  • Lead the Tax planning and compliance considering the future strategy of the business, group policy and local regulations
  • Management and delivery of Outsourced UK Corporate tax compliance (computations, returns, filings quarterly instalment payments and responses to HMRC enquiries) with assistance from tax advisors
  • Management of tax authority audits (direct and indirect) or enquiries within the Group
  • Preparation of the tax disclosures in the financial statements for the Group and UK financial statements
  • Management of all tax compliance for the Group in conjunction with local finance teams and external advisors where appropriate
  • Managing the group's transfer pricing compliance and queries
  • Providing adhoc tax advice on structuring and commerciallyled projects
  • Involvement on any tax projects both in the UK and overseas (e.g. transfer pricing, tax structures, corporate simplification, acquisition tax due diligence/support).
  • Working closely with tax advisors to deliver M&A tax projects including deal execution, implementation and integration
  • Advising on local tax exposures arising from withholding taxes
  • Managing the UK VAT reporting and compliance
  • Developing relationships with advisers and tax authorities in the UK and overseas

Profile

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CTA)
  • Previous Corporate Tax knowledge and experience (from a large UK based accountancy firm or inhouse team)
  • Technically up to date and aware of legislative changes
  • Detailed knowledge of UK corporation tax
  • International tax experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to operate at all levels of the organisation
  • Uptodate knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP with US GAAP knowledge desirable
  • The ability to work in partnership and across boundaries to achieve results
  • Ability to successfully present challenging messages
  • Comfortable in different international cultures and in dealing with sometimes sensitive issues

Location


Initially a fair amount of working from home however it is a preference that you will be located within occasional commuting distance of Bristol (1 day a week).
