A tech giant in global energy are looking for a Hybrid Sourcing Specialist at a Engineering facility in Stroud


A multi-billion dollar international technology company is currently looking for Sourcing Specialist to join their Supply Chain team in their offices in Stroud, Gloucestershire.

With facilities in over 120 countries worldwide our Client is a leader in developing state of the art equipment to challenge the traditional limitations of the energy industry.

You will work on incredibly complexed and innovative projects on a global scale.

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible implementing sourcing plans/ tactics to effectively manage the sourcing activities related to his/ her assigned project portfolio.

The Sourcing Specialist provides sourcing and procurement support, ensuring parts are sourced in a cost-effective and timely manner from suitable vendors.

Works with the assigned project teams to meet critical project timelines, prioritizing work and communicating progress in cadence reviews/ through tracking mechanisms, understands strategies for assigned commodities & proactively drive initiatives to meet departmental objectives.


Responsibilites for the Sourcing Specialist:


  • Direct Report: NPD/ TLM Eng. Supply Chain Leader
  • Cross functional relationship: Maintains a close working relationship with Sustaining/ Engineering teams and Commercial Supply Chain function
  • Supports all employees and managers within the location
  • No direct Reports

Principal Responsibilities for the Sourcing Specialist:

  • Conducts RFI/Q/P (Request for Information/Quotation/Proposal) and bidding processes, minimizing risk, and maximizing value in terms of quality, delivery, and cost
  • Negotiates prices and terms with suppliers to meet specified quality, delivery, and cost objectives
  • Ensures accurate system definition of part & assembly parameters for systematic Purchase Order release
  • Works closely with Engineering project teams, taking the lead to communicate supply time frames/ alternative solutions to meet shared goals
  • Selects a highperformance supply base for assigned portfolio, in accordance with shortlist of approved suppliers

Experience needed for the Sourcing Specialist role:

  • 3 years minimum experience in similar role (must have a clear desire to further career within Supply Chain)
  • Commodity knowledge basic knowledge of machined components, electromechanical assemblies, harnessing/ interconnection, PWA/ electronics all desirable
  • Excellent communication skillsboth verbal and written
  • Process and quality improvement driven
  • Proven capability with data management and control principles
  • Strong timemanagement and task prioritization skills
  • Proficient in MS Office apps, SAP (favourable) or other ERP system
