Senior Support Worker - Days OR Nights (Learning Disabilities)

Shinners Bridge, Dartington, Devon

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary scale:
£ £11.70 per hour (plus an additional £2.15 per hour night premium for the night role)

Contract:
Permanent

The Role

There is no such thing as a 'typical' Senior Support Worker.

Staff come from lots of different backgrounds, people with little or no experience but want a job that involves helping people, those who want a change of career, as well as experienced workers.

The one thing that links all of them together is their desire to work with young people with learning disabilities, make their lives better and help them to learn something new or take a further step towards independence.

No two shifts will be the same as you will get involved in a variety of different tasks and activities whilst helping the young people to learn the skills they need to live the life they choose.

Our staff certainly don't see what they do as 'just another job'.

This role will involve providing outstanding needs-led care to our service users, but also supporting the Team Leaders and Management to run the home effectively.

As a day Senior Support Worker, the shift pattern will be 2 days on, 2 days off and could either be a split shift then or a 12hr shift or similar).

As a night Senior Support Worker, your shifts will either be a 9:15pm to 9:15am (these typically take place during term-times), or 8:00pm - 8:00am (these take place during school holidays/weekends), with a working pattern of 3 nights on, 3 nights off.

About You

Ideally, you will have previous experience in this sector and must hold (or currently be studying to obtain) a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

In return the organisation will support you in making care work your career, offering you an extensive induction on commencement of employment and an amazing array of training opportunities and will also work with you on your own individual development plan to help you to progress your career.
