The vacancy

Moore Barlow are looking for a Legal Assistant to provide administrative support to our property team in Southampton.
Our offices are modern, with an onsite subsidised restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. The space is great for collaborative working or to take a well-earned break.

The focus of this role is to provide administrative support to the Plots team on various day to day tasks, with the prospect to progress your skills and potential to get more involved.

This role would be well suited to a proactive and confident Legal Assistant with strong administration skills and high attention to detail.

You will be working within a fun and collaborative team who value each other's support and input.


Key responsibilities

  • Takes conveyancing instructions.
  • Provides an efficient and effective service to clients, updating them and keeping them informed.
  • To always communicate in a clear, polite and calm manner to clients, work colleagues and others.
  • Prepare and assist with exchange and completion paperwork.
  • Prepare and assist with the collation of contract packs.
  • Liaise with and obtain updates from solicitors in relation to transactions.
  • Assist and support more senior members of the team with work or tasks as required.
  • To ensure that standards of quality and the reputation of the firm are maintained at all times.
  • To support the effectiveness of the team by being positive and cooperative with all team members.
  • To demonstrate commitment to the role, Department and Moore Barlow through excellent punctuality, timekeeping and attendance.
  • To demonstrate ability to time manage and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • To take initiative for self development and accept changes and new challenges required to meet individual and Departmental objectives.
  • To ensure the confidentiality of all Moore Barlow's information and clients' documentation.
  • To adhere to the HR policies and procedures.
