Role profile

Title Cleaner

Responsible to Registered Manager

Accountable to Registered Manager


Brief description of duties
To work contract hours across agreed days, any amendments to be agreed in negotiation with manager of Rockmount.

To use allocated shift hours effectively to ensure a high standard of cleanliness is provided

To ensure a high standard of cleanliness, in particular regard to Service user bedrooms on rotation and communal areas.

Carry out cleaning duties as identified on checklist.

Carry out any additional cleaning that is observed by you or others to be required during duty hours

To undertake additional Covid 19 cleaning requirements as per schedule in place.

To assist with the deep clean of additional specific areas as identified on a rotational basis following negotiation.

Engage service users in assisting and taking responsibility for light cleaning to maximise existing and develop new domestic skills.

The role involves the use of domestic appliances that do not require additional training to use.

Use initiative to work without direct supervision and manage own workload whilst complimenting the team input with service users.


To complete all identified tasks in a timely manner giving regard to service users' routines and the daily operation of Rockmount.

Act in a professional and non-discriminatory manner and as a positive role model at all times.

To adhere to policy and procedures in place at all times.

To protect the rights of service users.

To ensure service users are safeguarded from potential or actual harm.


Communication
To maintain confidentiality in all areas of communication, written, verbal and electronic.

To notify the manager of any issues that require further attention in respect of H&S and maintenance.

To communicate effectively with other staff and service users in a positive and professional manner at all times.


To raise any concerns in respect of service user welfare, noted during routine cleaning duties, to the relevant person on duty.

Contribute to staff meetings as and when necessary.


Stock control


To ensure adequate resources are available to enable effective cleaning to take place in line with COSHH guidance and preferred product list.

To advise manager of need to order stock in good time to prevent running out.

Review and update COSHH list and guidelines as products usage changes


Health and safety
To ensure any equipment used is safe and fit for purpose in line with level of responsibility.

Utilise available signage to prevent/minimise risk of slips trips and falls.

To report any concerns re health and safety promptly and follow up on required action as necessary.

To take immediate steps to ensure health and safety of all where an issue has been identified.


Ensure you adhere to health and safety policies and service users are aware of health and safety issues, and how to report these, at all times.

To wear PPE appropriately as per guidance and risk assessments in place. With additional precautions during infection outbreak.


Human resources
Adhere to terms and conditions of employment.

Maintain an acceptable attendance record

To be punctual.

Participate in supervision as designated by Registered Manager

Participate fully in the appraisal process.

Plan annual leave in advance in line with policy giving as much notice as possible to authorising manager.

Adhere to policies outlined in the employee handbook


Training
Undertake allocated E learning modules in a timely manner and check monthly for updates required

Ensure attendance at all arranged training

Keep in date with all mandatory training

Identify own training and development needs and liaise with appraiser re addressing these.

Job Types:

£10.20-£10.50 per hour
