Service Care Solutions are looking for a Fixed Penalty Officer to work within the Lancashire Constabulary on a 6-Month contract.

Job Role/Purpose:


To deliver professional, efficient, and effective administrative support in relation to criminal justice matters and processing of traffic offence reports, fixed penalties, camera enforcement notices, report for summonses, collisions, and diversionary coursebookings.


  • Work in a multifunctional team to deliver costeffective criminal justice administrative processes, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, standard procedures, and policy agreements, whilst successfully managing demand to achieve and sustain the requiredperformance levels. Over time, there will be a requirement for staff to gain experience of all functions within the team.
  • Contribute to the development of efficient systems and processes in relation to SRU procedures.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement approach, taking opportunities to reduce the administrate burden whenever possible, particularly in respect of operational police officers.
  • Use Constabulary and national IT systems in accordance with national and corporate procedures to maintain, input, interrogate and extract data
  • Ensure accuracy during file/notice registration, when updating or amending records and notices, processing course bookings and during summons preparation and whilst recording other file information always ensuring that records remain up to date.
  • Provide advice and guidance to colleagues, other agencies, members of the public and NDORS trainers, in relation to traffic offence reports, fixed penalties, camera enforcement notices, report for summonses and collisions matters and NDORS courses.
  • Provide advice and guidance to officers and colleagues in relation to the submission, content, and timeliness of SRU prosecution files, in all cases emphasising the need to focus on a 'right firsttime approach'.
  • Closely monitor adherence to procedural, legal, and home office requirements and Service Level Agreements with officers and other agencies such as the Crown Prosecution Service, HMCTS, the Coroner's Office and NDORS; take prompt action to address noncomplianceby the most appropriate method, highlighting to supervision as appropriate.
  • To prepare files for prosecution within agreed standards, processes, and deadlines.

Work Experience/Knowledge:


  • Experience of working in an administrative/clerical role within a busy office environment dealing with confidential information
  • Experience of inputting, updating, and maintaining computerised and manual filing/recording systems.
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public and working in partnership with other departments and agencies.
  • Experience of filing and categorising information quickly and accurately.
  • Experience of working on own initiative, investigating problems, developing solutions, and taking appropriate timely action to resolve them.
  • Experience of working with mínimal supervision, organising, and prioritising own workload.
