37.5 hours per week over 5 days

Based from Waters Green Medical Centre in Macclesfield

Reporting to Chief Executive

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POST:


The Head of Quality & Performance will maintain and drive consistently high levels of quality, safety, and performance to support clinical excellence and exceptional patient experience.


Work in collaboration with senior management and clinical colleagues, contributing to the development, implementation and maintenance of governance frameworks and performance dashboards.


In partnership with the Senior Management team and clinical leads the post-holder will also ensure services meet the CQC requirements to be safe, effective, caring, well-led and responsive.


MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality and Compliance:

Develop, implement, and review robust systems to effectively manage organisational risk. This will include processes to actively identify risks along with mitigating action plans.

  • To be the operational lead for Health & Safety, Information Governance, Business continuity and Human Resources. Sourcing specialist advice as appropriate, to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice.
  • Be responsible for the continuing development, implementation, and review of organisational Policies and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Oversee standards and audit relating to Infection Prevention and Control in partnership with the IPC clinical lead.
  • In addition to maintaining and improving current CQC rating, ensure that regulatory and contractual standards are met for all services.
  • Support operational teams to understand KPIs
  • Assist clinical leads in supporting all activity towards service improvement, including post implementation evaluation.
  • To respond to patient comments, concerns, or complaints ensuring that any learning is embedded in practice / service delivery
  • Producing reports and leading quality review meetings with service leads
  • Lead and or support timely investigations into, adverse events and untoward incidents, involving staff and/or patients, and implement strategies to reduce risk of reoccurrence and promote quality
  • In conjunction with the service leads ensure that a robust programme of appraisal and continual development is implemented across all services.

Performance and Reporting

  • Produce and present quality and performance reports to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with senior leaders and clinical colleagues to ensure contractual KPIs are met from a quality and performance perspective.
  • Provide expert advice and support about data management and manipulation of data, business intelligence platforms and reporting tools
  • Develop an organisational performance dashboard system to improve quality and performance management.
  • Promote the importance of data quality and work with operational teams to champion awareness.
  • Support the Operational Safeguarding lead in the completion of the annual safeguarding audit submission.
  • Prepare and triangulate data for the completion and submission of the ICB Quality Schedule
  • Submit data as required to external agencies e.g., NHS England, Data Services Offices for Regional Commissioners
  • Ensure service performance is aligned to local and national guidelines, key performance indicators and service specifications. identifying areas for change and improvement if required.

To be responsible for the self-development of skills and competencies through participation in training and development activities and to maintain up to date technical and professional knowledge relevant to the post.


To participate in Vernova's Performance and Development Review and to undertake any identified training and development related to the post.

To undertake statutory and mandatory training as deemed appropriate by the CIC.

To develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.

To adhere to all CIC policies and procedures.


Health & Safety:
