Head of Mathematics Faculty - Fixed Term

The Bishop Wand School is looking to appoint an inspirational Head of Faculty to lead teaching across the Mathematics Faculty. This contract is offered on a Fixed Term basis, covering the period 1st September st August 2024.


This is an exciting time for the faculty, who are going from strength to strength and have a team of high-quality practitioners that work well together and are keen to share ideas with each other and trainee teachers.

Our team is innovative with a drive to introduce new and modern projects with enthusiasm.

Our GCSE Maths students attain and progress significantly higher than the national average and recruitment to A level Maths, Business Studies, Economics and Travel are all very strong.


We value enhancing the learning of our students though extracurricular activities and as a result student can attend a variety of Maths club and enter Maths competitions.

We are looking for a Head of Faculty who has the interpersonal skills to lead a large group of teachers across a number of disciplines and is keen to help work with the senior team to ensure our students can 'Realise their God-given potential'.

- be an outstanding practitioner with an unwavering commitment to the highest standards for teaching and learning.
- have excellent leadership and management skills.
- have a proven track record of raising attainment in GCSE Maths.


The middle leaders at Bishop Wand are central to the schools continued improvement and for this reason we offer a very comprehensive professional development programme and support package for this key group of individuals.

Also, all teachers are given additional time to plan and prepare exciting, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of each student.
