Responsibilities:


  • Overseeing the daytoday management of the Finance Department
  • Drive the continuous improvement of endtoend accounting practices. Including systems and the whole financial function
  • Continually identify risks to delivery, propose solutions where necessary and effectively manage stakeholder expectations throughout
  • Review business processes and implement improvements.
  • Manage and coordinate annual external audit.
  • Arrange preparation & filing of CT.
  • Approve 3rd party supplier payments.
  • Issue monthly management reports to bank
  • Execute hedging transactions.
  • Review trade credit daily and drawdown funds as needed.
  • Manage cash against financing requirements.
  • VAT and Corporation Tax review and approval
  • Perform 2nd level Credit Control.

Experience:


  • A qualified accountant with experience of working within an SME
  • Previous experience of successfully managing a competent finance team with direct reports that include full management responsibilities such as performance appraisals and regular 1:1's
  • Knowledge of international trade (Preferably within the chemical industry) is advantageous
  • Experience of implementing new IT systems
  • Experience of demonstrating strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to confidently and accurately keep up with the demands on the business and ensure strict deadlines are met.
  • Experience of demonstrating a flexible approach that would support the highly charged trading environment.
  • Experience of working across cultures as relevant to our Global Marketplace
  • Financial modelling
  • Extensive experience of accounting to a technical level
  • Extensive knowledge of European VAT would be an advantage.

  • A high level of negotiation skills is firmly required.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise is key for a highly varied and quickly changing workload
  • Ability of communicating clearly at all levels.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£60,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
