Crayford

£40kC DOE + additional weekend / on-call payments

Full time / permanent
Our client is a leading Kent based privately owned resource management and recycling company are currently seeking a Full Time Permanent Service Delivery Supervisor based at their Crayford depot


They currently operate the Street Services Contract for the London Borough of Bexley covering domestic waste collections, street cleansing, winter maintenance & gulley cleaning services.

Their aim is to deliver consistently reliable and efficient waste collectionand cleansing services to the residents and businesses of the Borough.


The successful Service Delivery Supervisor will be required to -

  • Organise, oversee and direct up to 30 staff responsible for delivering contracted services under the Bexley Street Services Contract;
  • Monitor the progress of allocated tasks to ensure completion of all work to schedules;
  • Monitor performance, timekeeping, attendance, absences levels of allocated staff; and
  • Monitor the performance of all allocated contracted services in accordance with agreed KPIs.
  • Other ad hoc duties as requested by management

Hours shifts required -

  • Normal working hours are 45 hours per week (Monday to Friday) comprising 9 hour shift patterns between dependent on shift)
  • A Rota system operates between Supervisors for late shifts
  • An additional fixed sum is payable for weekend working and oncall duties which are required on a Rota basis

Skills / Experience required for role -

  • Strong people management skills.
  • IT literate specifically intermediate skills in MS Office packages
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Hold a valid clean UK driving license use of company van provided
  • Previous experience of managing a manual workforce.
  • Managing staff in an environmental setting.
  • Managing client relations with a local authority client.
  • Previous experience in waste management services, particularly in local authority.
  • Knowledge of environmental service vehicles and how they operate, including maintenance practices.
  • Previous experience with Whitespace
Previous experience in the Domestic Waste Collection or Street Cleansing sector would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be provided
