Infrastructure Support Analyst
FPSG are proudly working in partnership with an academic professional institution based in the heart of Edinburgh. Due to expansion we are adding an Infrastructure Analyst to join the backbone of the IT & Digital team.
You will have a working knowledge of:
- Active Directory
- Data protection management and back up technologies
- Maintenance of Windows server operation and Linux server
- Open source technologies
- PHP, MysQL, Apache, Nginx (or similar)
- Microsoft Azure/AWS Cloud
- Database Technologies (advantage)
About You:
- Educated in Computer Science/IT or a high level of experience within the industry
- Great at problem solving/troubleshooting
- Approachable with excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Organised with proven tack record of documentation and quality improvement
- Ability to implement work within project methodologies
- Previous experience within a large scale network environment
- Knowledge of network architectures
- Able to implement and support all tech systems in place by company
- Experienced patch and security management skills
The Role:
- Provide technical support to all parties problems in operations
- Assist with growth of a future architecture and operations on research, storage and network
- Hand on system support ensuring system designs are maintained, patched and secure
- Managing system backups and set up requests
- Architecture & design of systems supporting the companies need or research
- Provide a flexible and manageable storage platform
- Design and manage infrastructure implementations across a wide network
- Working with Windows & Linux server administration
- Hands on with technologies such as Docker
- Be responsible for relevant batch jobs
- Identity management (shibboleth, ezproxy, modern auth, oauth)
- Monitor od physical and virtual servers
- Ensuring data confidentiality and availability (disk encryption/back ups)
- Plan product upgrades & testing
- Reduce risk of service distribution via changes control
- Quality testing and document logging
- Implement group polices and ensure adherence
