We are recruiting for 3 positions:

  • Band 5 Bank Project Support Officer
  • Bank 4 Bank Personal Assistant
  • Band 3 Bank Administrative Officer

We are creating a Health Protection Bank to support the Health Protection Team (HPT) when we experience surges in work activity.

As with the nature of Bank work, there will be no set hours each month. However, should the need arise, we will call upon you to support with shifts as and when needed.

This is a fantastic option for a wide variety of people due to the incredibly flexible nature of the role, ensuring that you remain in charge of your work-life balance.

It can also be highly rewarding knowing that when you jump into action, you are contributing to the crucial work that we do to protect the population of Wales from infectious diseases.

Band 5 Bank Project Support Officer:
The role will have a primary focus on providing administrative leadership and project support to the Health Protection Team.

We are looking for an individual who can work flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team and with mínimal supervision.


The post holder must have excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills and the confidence to deal with a wide range of matters with sensitivity and diplomacy.


Bank 4 Bank Personal Assistant:

The role will have a primary focus on supporting Programme Leads/Consultants in Health Protection.

We are looking for an individual who has energy, enthusiasm and commitment, excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills and the confidence to deal with a wide range of matters with sensitivity and diplomacy.


Band 3 Bank Administrative Officer:

The role will have a focus on supporting work linked to our Programmes in Health Protection.

We are looking for an individual who has energy, enthusiasm and commitment, excellent interpersonal skills, and the confidence to deal with a wide range of matters with sensitivity and diplomacy.

Band 5 Project Support Officer

The post holder will be required to develop and maintain outstanding working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation, and provide the following support:

  • Lead and manage projects
  • Coordinate administrative support
  • Organise and establish conferences and events
  • Liaise with external agencies and Public Health Wales partners
  • Assist with the technical development of online resources and deliver training
  • Staff management

Band 4 Bank Personal Assistant:


The post holder will need to have proven experience of providing PA support (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

The post holder will be required to engage with stakeholders at all levels across Wales and provide the following support:


  • Diary management
  • Organise meetings and events
  • Take concise and clear minutes
  • Deal with phone calls
  • Escalate issues and field queries

Band 3 Bank Administrative Officer:

The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support that includes:

  • Inbox management
  • Supporting the coordination and dissemination of resources
  • Organising meetings
  • Taking concise and clear minutes
  • Dealing with phone call
