Do you have experience in supporting children on a 1:1 basis? Do you have a TA qualification or relevant degree?


Empowering Learning are working alongside a school in the NG2 area who are looking to add a teaching assistant to their team to work on a 1:1 basis with a child who presents with EBD & SEMH.

The role is due to start as soon as possible and the role will be full time. The hours of work are 8:30-3:30

The main duties within the role will be:

  • Supporting the child both in and out of the classroom
  • Helping to differentiate activities to meet the child's needs
  • Creating a rewards programme specific to the child's needs
  • Liaising with the SENCO, class teacher and child's parent around their progress
  • Running intervention sessions to help raise attainment levels and social skills
  • Helping to set up a calm and nurturing school environment for the child to thrive in

The school are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in supporting children with SEN
  • Can build strong relationships with children who refuse to engage
  • Is an effective communicator
  • Has good initiative and can think on their feet
  • Can be resilient on the challenging days

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 7 months


Salary:
£330.00-£350.00 per week


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Derby: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Special education: 1 year (preferred)
