**Job Description:

What you'll be doing:


  • Lead & develop detailed briefs in conjunction with the client and senior colleagues
  • Establish & maintain client relationships
  • Support business development activities by senior colleagues
  • Carry out site surveys (including defect analysis, condition surveys & compliance checks)
  • Carry out design and specification work and preparing tender information
  • Administering building contracts (JCT &/or NEC)
  • Undertake all aspects of professional surveying work (including Condition Surveys, Specific Defect Analysis, PW work, dilapidations, Fire Risk Assessments)
  • Liaise with Clients, Contractors & other consultants (internal and external)
  • Assist the team leader with project finances, recruitment, mentoring and team leadership.

What we are looking for:


  • BSc in Building Surveying or equivalent
  • MRICS or MCIOB, or similar
  • Have several years' experience of advising on commercial properties either in a Building Surveying or Building Control environment
  • Ability to establish a good working relationship with Clients and colleagues
  • Selfmotivated and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Good AutoCAD skills
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, including report writing
  • Good technical knowledge of building construction and compliance with standards and regulations
  • Full UK Driving Licence
