Age UK has a fantastic new opportunity within our growing Digital & Technology (D&T) team.


We are recruiting for a motivated
Portfolio Office Manager to manage the identification, assessment, and allocation of project management staff to initiatives.


As
Portfolio Office Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for balancing resources and risks against a portfolio plan that optimises digital, technology and data projects against the charity's strategy.


You will enable decision makers to make data driven selections and drive the centre of excellence through the continuous improvement of Project Portfolio Management (PPM) processes, people and tools.

This exciting new role would suit an experienced PMO manager with a passion for data enabled decision making.

If you would like to utilise your Portfolio Management expertise to support a charity that provides vital services and support to older people inneed, then this may be the role for you.


Please note that although this is a remote working position, occasional travel to our central London office will be required.

Within Age UK the official title of this position is
Portfolio Office Management (PMO) Manager.


You will have:


  • Extensive experience of portfolio, programme and project management with a thorough understanding of project lifecycles, process, and methodologies
  • An understanding of Agile principles and adoption techniques across development, delivery, and reporting.
  • Demonstrable evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience translating strategy into objectives and projects/programmes.
  • Proven experience in managing assurance activities across projects, programme and/or portfolios.
  • Strong analytical skills underpinned with sound judgement under pressure.
  • Significant Portfolio Management, or PMO experience.
  • Some experience within P3M/ PMO resource management.
  • An ability to work both independently and autonomously, but also as part of a team.
  • Extensive PPM methodology knowledge.
  • Good awareness of project control methodologies.
  • Selfmotivation, with a proactive and delivery focused disposition.
  • Passion for data enabled decision making.
  • Excellent MS Office Ability.
