As a Community Champion your responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside the Community Engagement Manager to improve the organisations outreach into regional communities, promoting and creating awareness
  • this will include knocking on doors and cold calling
  • Working within local services to raise awareness of gambling harms, educating communities, and facilitating improved access for people to early engagement and intervention as structured treatment
  • Signposting a range of training, including bespoke programmes offered to a wide range of frontline services to educate and identify
  • Working collaboratively with the community development team, liaising with existing projects
  • Creating and maintaining partnerships with a variety of organisations across a range of industry sectors
  • Deliver training to professionals within the community
  • Assisting with the publicising and development of the client's early engagement and intervention offerings
To be successful in the Community Champion role, you will need to have:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role and previous experience working ideally within support settings, public health or third sector
  • Strong sales, influencing and persuasion skills, the ability to charm clients and at ease cold calling prospects
  • The ability to communicate fluently in Welsh and English both written and verbal
  • Experience of multidisciplinary and inter agency liaison
  • Ability to design and deliver awareness education and prevention programmes
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Good IT and administration skills, proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Current valid driving licence and ability to travel within the geographical work area as required


This is a full-time permanent hybrid role with a combination of some home based and office days located in Bangor, Gwynedd, plus travelling to different sites as required.

In exchange you will receive an annual salary of £24,348 - £25,971 per annum depending on skills and experience.
