Nottingham University Hospitals Digital Services provides services to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
It comprises a multi disciplinary team of professional staff concerned with providing a wide range of services in information, knowledge management, computing, and unified communications.
The holder of this post is the Infrastructure Solutions Specialist, reporting to the Infrastructure Solution Support Manager.The post holder provides expert technical guidance and services to the Trust in the implementation of new infrastructure technologies and provides the support for long term technical problem resolution (3rd line support).
Working with the Infrastructure Solutions Support Manager they will manage infrastructure resources, provide the expertise and guidance for technical project delivery for those projects internal to and external to Digital Services and to NUH Trust.

The post holder provides expert technical guidance and services to the Trust in the implementation of new infrastructure technologies and provides the support for long-term technical problem resolution (3rd line support).
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the Trust's server and data infrastructure is securely maintained, supported, and available to meet the needs of all its service users, whether this is on premise or cloud platforms.
Working with the Infrastructure Solutions Support Manager they will manage infrastructure resources, provide the expertise and guidance for technical project delivery for those projects internal to and external to Digital Services and to NUH Trust.
The post holder will be expected to work across all campuses when attending on site, however this role supports a hybrid workplace model to offer flexibility and support to our teams.

To support the Infrastructure Solutions Manager in the delivery of the essential services and systems managed within the corporate division of Digital and Information.
To be responsible for the IT Infrastructure delivery of UNIX, Microsoft Windows, VMware systems, Azure and any new infrastructure technologies that are required to fulfil successful project delivery and improve the infrastructure resilience and capabilities of the Trust.
To be responsible for problem resolution (3rd line) support services within Digital Services and provide an escalation path for unresolved support issues.
Lead in service review meetings with suppliers to discuss development roadmaps, upgrades, and technical architecture specifications & designs.
To be accountable for infrastructure project delivery within Digital Services for both internal and external projects.
To provide expert technical advice during Trust procurement activity to ensure quality systems and services are procured in-line with the IT strategy and that the Trust obtains best value for money during tendering activity for all IT systems/infrastructure.
To produce local IT Infrastructure policy and operational handover
documentation for new server systems and contribute to the development of infrastructure policy and technical capability across the wider health community.
To advise the Digital Services Senior Management Team on local and national IT Infrastructure opportunities, challenges, and changes for the future.
