Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Environmental Health Officer to join our team.

As an Environmental Health Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental health and safety regulations, conducting inspections, and investigating health hazards.

Your role will be crucial in promoting public health and safety within our community.

Duties:

Role Purpose:

To take the lead and personal responsibility for effective investigation and resolution of complex casework across the full range of Pollution Environmental Health functions.
Carrying out routine or unplanned visits and inspections to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
Understand complaints, investigate, negotiate and mediate between parties where possible to achieve positive outcome.
Responsible for developing and delivering special projects, policy, research on areas of expertise and/or functional activity within the service.
Identify learning from external sources to continuously improve service delivery

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or a related field
Proven experience working as an Environmental Health Officer or in a similar role
Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental health regulations
Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough investigations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and providing guidance to stakeholders
Proficiency in using computer software for data analysis and reporting
First aid certification is required
Valid driver's license
