We are currently recruiting for Team Leaders within our busy production area.


Responsibilities will include planning the daily requirements to meet the production plan, including allocating labour, ensuring all machinery and equipment is set up correctly and the correct supplies of materials are available, keeping records as necessary.


To coach and develop employees to ensure all skill requirements are met for both the short term and longer terms needs of production.

To communicate effectively to employees the requirements of the production plan, along with any Company communications.


Responsible for the first line management of a team of between 3 and 6 employees (although this may vary dependent on product configurations), required to meet the production plan for the shift.

This role will manage the daily requirements of production.


Leading the line team in the delivery of the daily production plan for the shift, allocating resources as appropriate, in line with quality, food safety and Health and Safety requirements.

Ensuring the correct handover to the next shift, highlighting any issues or concerns.


To communicate to the team the achievements, control, monitoring and improvements on all KPIs, work practices and procedures and customer service levels to ensure the maintenance of a safe working environment at all times.


Key Challenges include:

  • Managing volume changes to the production plan.
  • Ensuring any machine breakdowns are dealt with efficiently, with Engineers being called as appropriate.
  • Ensuring the quality and consistency of products in line with specifications.
  • People planning including maintaining skills matrix, coaching and developing individuals.
  • Materials planning including liasing with supply teams to ensure optimal efficiency and actively thinking ahead.
  • Motivation of employees and dealing with any performance concerns.
  • Induction and training of new employees, including safe methods of working and adherence to quality standards.
  • Keeping appropriate shift records as agreed by the Shift Manager.
  • Maintaining the required quality management records for the operation.
  • Ensuring product quality standards are maintained at all times.
  • Liaising with Engineering to ensure rapid response to breakdowns and highlighting any longer term issues with plant and equipment.
  • Participating in customer audits / visits actively participating in customer engagement.
