About the role
The Idox group Finance team has a progressive outlook, and is a close-knit, mixed team of finance professionals, including experienced qualified accountants and finance professionals with specialisms in accounts payable, credit control, management information, payroll, systems accounting and tax.
Joining us as a paid intern will provide the right person with a development path in Finance, adapted to suit them as an individual.
We have an excellent current opportunity to join as a Finance Assistant with our busy Accounts Payable (AP) team.As part of AP, you will be involved in a broad variety of tasks, including accounts administration, supplier liaison and provision of management information.
Reporting directly to our Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will benefit from positive leadership and mentoring from the outset.We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic, self-driven individual who wants to kickstart their career in Finance.
This role would suit a school leaver or university graduate or an individual looking to progress from a practice environment.
To thrive in Finance, you will need excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Our Intern will benefit from on-the-job training, and we also offer professional development support as an option, if you are keen to work and study.
Key responsibilities
The Accounts Payable team facilitate and look after the cashflow to our established suppliers and are responsible for making sure any invoicing we receive meets the high standards of compliance necessary for the business.
These are some of the daily tasks the intern will be doing to contribute to the AP team and to Idox as a whole:
- Review / processing of employee expenses in line with Group Expenses Policy
- Review / processing of supplier invoices in line with company policy
- Resolve queries from employees, suppliers, and contractors
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Supplier payment runs (full end to end process)
- Daily cash book reconciliations
- Participate in servicing central AP mailbox (ensure response time KPI is met)
- Raising purchase order requisition for the Finance Team
- Supplier account set up / amendments
- Credit card purchases, payments, statement coding and reconciliation
- Weekly AP reporting i.e., Aged Creditors / Idox Employee expense reporting
- Assist with month end reporting
- Assist during audit
- Assist with other adhoc tasks / projects / reporting as requested by both the AP Supervisor and Transaction Cash Manager.

- Educated to Higher Grade level as a minimum
- Effective communication skills (friendly, positive, and professional manner)

- Ability to adapt approach to obtain required outcome
- Excellent attention to detail
- Professional and methodical approach with good problemsolving skills
- Good MS Excel skills
- Thirst for learning
- Ambition to build a career in Finance.
